By involving the community in decision-making, strengths and resources can be identified and utilized for impactful change. Our commitment to helping those in need energizes our ministry to spread God's love and positively impact lives inside and outside the church. Our goal is to start a chain reaction that transforms families, communities, cities, states, nations, and the world.

 


Senior Pastor Timothy Whitfield

Pastor Timothy E. Whitfield has been the Pastor Refuge Temple Church in Goldsboro, North Carolina since 1992.  He is widely known as an educator, innovator and mentor; serving in these capacities both nationally and internationally.  His guidance and instruction has inspired and motivated many people to aspire to and achieve the highest of standards.

Pastor Whitfield values the role of the local congregation as the "center of learning" and "launching" into the message of the Lord, Jesus Christ for the world.  He has utilized a methodology of praying together, sharing together and extending together in Christ; which employs the "total person" in the ministry effort of the church.

Pastor Whitfield has been employed as a behavior specialist in the public schools, mentoring young people and assisting administrators. He also was the director of the W.A. Foster Recreation Center for Goldsboro Parks and Recreation and is called upon as a speaker in a wide range of topics. Pastor Whitfield was the Assistant Executive Director and Program Manager of Pitt County Structured Day Program for The Prevention and Treatment Center were young people surround him for his love, wisdom and courage. He has earned the name T.O.D. (Tough Old Dude) by all those whom he has come in contact with over the last decades of his profession and the ones who visit the facility where he is employed. 

Pastor Whitfield received has Associate in Arts from the University of Phoenix and Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Leisure Studies from Mount Olive College.    

He is a native of Goldsboro, North Carolina, a lifelong resident, Pastor Whitfield is proud of his family roots and traditions.  He is married to Cynthia Carraway Whitfield, who is also from Goldsboro.  He is the proud father of four children Ricardo Cyntillia Chrystal and Maurice.

Pastor Whitfield is a faithful energetic, humorous gift to the body of Christ.  He is a praise and worship leader, a musician and a percussionist.  


Lady Cynthia Whitfield

Cynthia Maria Whitfield was born in Goldsboro NC and attended Goldsboro High School in Wayne County. After graduating from High School she attended St. Augustine College. After college, her husband Timothy Whitfield found her. After dating for three years they were married on the 4th of July.  Cynthia felt the need to be a home maker. While being a home maker, Cynthia went back to school for CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) were she provided direct care to patients. She furthered her education by enrolling in Early Childhood Education. From this education Cynthia became a great mother in the home and a great advocate for students with special needs.

Together, Cynthia now serves as Lady Whitfield along with her husband Timothy E. Whitfield as they Pastor Refuge Temple Church Outreach Ministries Inc. Lady Whitfield has a passion to help ladies and mother become family oriented by teaching the skills of being a God Fearing Mother.

Raising children like days of old. Giving them the wisdom of being an good parent. Teaching girls how to become ladies, also helping them look presentable in public. Cynthia has an anointing to foster women through the word of God in the right direction.

Lady Whitfield is an Entrepreneur in the city of Goldsboro. She cover counties in the State of NC with her Avon as an Independent Sale Representative. She has won numerous awards, number one in sales numerous times. She went back to school and earned her Associate Degrees in Business in Administration and Certificates in Accounting and Finance Booking and Project Management. 

Cynthia Whitfield has been married to Timothy for 37 years and are proud parent of two children by marriage. She has been by her husband side through his journey of pastoring. Together they have served as the Leaders of Refuge Temple for over 30years.

God has truly blessed this union. Together they have worked to enhance the Kingdom of God.
